Guidelines for Issuance of Loans for 2024-2025: Minister of Education, Science and Technology Prof. Adolf Mkenda, today (Monday, May 27th, 202) has launched the guidelines for issuance of loans and grants for the academic year 2024/2025 and reminded students to study hard to take advantage of the opportunities provided by the government through loans and grants.
“The online loan application window will be open for 90 days from June 1st to August 31st, 2024 to give loan applicants sufficient time to prepare and apply timely,” clarified Dr. Kiwia and advised loan applicants, internet café operators and the general public to consider reading and internilising the guidelines before embarking on actual application.
“In the financial year 2024/2025, the Government has set aside TZS 787 billion which will be allocated to 252,245 eligible needy students who will pursue degree and diploma programmes in various Higher Education Institutions”, said Dr. Kiwia.
HESLB may provide loans to cover all or some of the following items: –
(i) Meals and Accommodation (MA);
(ii) Tuition Fee (TF);(iii) Books and Stationery Expenses (BS);
(iv) Special Faculty Requirements (SFR);
(v) Research Expenses (RES); and
(vi) Field Practical Training (FPT).
Allocation of Loan
Loans to successful applicants will be allocated in sequence starting with Meals and Accommodation (MA); Tuition Fee (TF) Books and Stationery Expenses (BS), Special Faculty Requirements (SFR), Research Expenses (RES) and finally Field Practical Training (FPT) based on the remaining amount from the preceding loan items.
The Loan Application Guideline for the applicable year, which is available for download on this website, contains the eligibility requirements and application procedures. Interested candidates are urged to carefully read the instructions, have the necessary materials ready, and submit their applications online through the Online Application and Management System (OLAMS).
